Logan County VINELink Coverage
Illinois VINE, also reached by telephone at 866-566-8439, is an event and notification service. Logan County's official jail FAQ directs custody questions to VINE. IDOC also supports VINE alerts for changes involving covered Illinois correctional records. That local and state participation makes the service useful for a named person, but each result must be read in the context of its reporting agency.
The Logan County Safety Complex is a county jail. Lincoln Correctional Center and Logan Correctional Center are IDOC prisons in the same county. A county jail result does not replace an IDOC profile after transfer, and an IDOC result is not a county booking archive. Federal Bureau of Prisons and immigration cases require their own federal systems.
VINE can report a custody status, location or agency, an event date, and identifying data. It can also register future alerts. It does not promise a full historical ledger. If a person drops from the service, the absence is inconclusive until the sheriff, IDOC, or another receiving agency confirms the movement.
Search One Logan County Inmate
Use the Illinois page and search one person rather than browsing for a general release list. Names can collide, so an offender or booking identifier is stronger than spelling alone. Compare age or birth-year information only where lawfully displayed, and make sure the agency points to Logan County or IDOC as expected.
- Open Illinois VINE and choose the custody or offender search offered on the current screen.
- Enter the full legal name. Add an identifier when the service permits it.
- Review every plausible match and compare the reporting agency, age information, and offender or booking number.
- Open the matching record. Copy the exact status, location, event label, and timestamp.
- If the result is absent or unclear, check the source agency before drawing a release conclusion.
A no-result can stem from spelling, feed timing, an agency transfer, or archive limits. The Logan County release-record search path adds the Judici court docket and a sheriff movement-record request when VINE alone does not settle the event.
Logan County VINELink Release Fields
The visible fields depend on the participating agency's feed. Copy them as displayed. “Out of custody” means the named reporting custodian no longer shows the person in its custody at that time. It may not reveal whether the outcome was community release, transfer, removal, death, or a corrected record unless the event detail says so.
| Field | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Name | Exact spelling and plausible match |
| Age or birth year | Identity comparison, not sole proof |
| Offender or booking ID | Strong link to the correct record |
| Custody status | The service's precise current wording |
| Location or agency | Which custodian supplied the event |
| Status date | When the event or feed was recorded |
For a county booking, the sheriff's completed release or movement entry is stronger evidence of the exact date, type, and destination. For a state-prison case, the IDOC profile may distinguish parole or MSR from discharge. A VINE status and a projected IDOC date answer different questions.
Register Logan County Release Alerts
Registration begins from the correct person's record. Illinois VINE supports offered channels such as telephone, text, email, or the mobile application. Event choices vary. Select only the custody changes relevant to the inquiry and confirm each contact method so an alert is not lost.
- Open the verified individual record and select Register, or the current equivalent.
- Choose the available release, transfer, or custody-change event.
- Add the offered phone, text, email, or app delivery route.
- Verify the address or number and create a telephone PIN when requested.
- Complete the link, code, or final confirmation screen and save the registration details.
For an automated telephone call, enter the PIN when prompted so the system records acknowledgment. Registration is prospective. It may notify the user of a later event, but it does not reconstruct an earlier Logan County release that has already fallen outside the feed.
Confirm Logan County VINE Results
VINE is only as current as the participating agency feed. Data can lag. A new arrest or transfer can also change a status after an alert. Search again, note the retrieval time, and ask the record-holding agency to resolve a conflict. For the county jail, request the booking/release movement record through the Logan County sheriff FOIA page. For prison custody, use the IDOC profile.
Important: An out-of-custody VINE result is a status signal, not automatic proof of community release. Confirm transfers, receiving agencies, and the exact release type.
The BOP locator covers federal prisoners from 1982 forward. ICE's locator covers current detainees and certain recent releases from ICE custody. Neither system proves release from Logan County Jail. A county movement record naming USMS or ICE means physical departure may have been a custodial handoff.
The official BOP records explanation was captured successfully for the manifest image below.

The federal page illustrates why a VINELink search must not be stretched beyond the state and local agencies that feed it.
Logan County VINE Local Layer
Logan County's own jail FAQ makes an unusually clear split. It sends jail custody questions to VINE, prison custody questions to IDOC, and court-event questions to the Circuit Clerk search. The sheriff's VINE page is the local bridge, while Illinois VINE provides the actual search and notification service.
This routing keeps a state-prison profile from being mistaken for the Logan County jail archive. It also prevents a court order from being treated as the hour physical discharge occurred. Each source carries one part of the record: VINE supplies timely status, the sheriff supplies movement detail, the court supplies legal authority, and IDOC supplies state custody and supervision data.
Note: Logan County does not publish a confirmed rolling release feed, so VINELink remains a named-person check rather than a browseable list.
Logan County Alerts and Registries
VINE alerts can serve crime victims and concerned citizens who need notice of a covered event. IDOC Victim Services can assist with state registration, while PRB Victim and Witness Services maintains a separate channel for qualifying board and release events. Those services should be selected based on the case type.
Illinois offender registries are narrower. The sex-offender registry and the Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Registry apply only to people within their statutes. They are not lists of all Logan County released people and cannot fill a missing VINE history.
A sound check uses the least broad source that answers the custody question. Start with VINE for the specific covered person, then confirm through the sheriff, IDOC, PRB, or court record that owns the event.
Resolve Logan County VINE Conflicts
A court order and a VINE event can both be accurate while describing different moments. The order may authorize bond, pretrial release, dismissal, a sentence, or credit for time served. The sheriff still must process the physical discharge. VINE then reflects data sent by the participating custodian. Compare event times before treating different wording as a contradiction.
If the VINE record says out of custody but gives no release type, request the completed booking and movement record. Ask for the release date and time, release code and its meaning, destination, and receiving agency where maintained and nonexempt. A transfer to IDOC, another county, USMS, or ICE is a departure from the Logan County jail but not proof that the person entered the community.
If the court docket shows an IDOC sentence, allow time for intake processing and search the state profile. An IDOC Location change without a release or parole status is normally institutional movement. A profile showing parole and an actual parole date supports release from confinement to state supervision. A projected field alone remains an estimate.
Logan County Historical Release Checks
VINE registration works forward from the time it is completed. It is not designed as a permanent historical archive for every prior Logan County booking. When an older event no longer appears, use the court and records routes rather than turning the absence into a release finding.
The Circuit Clerk links Logan County cases through Judici for post-1990 information and provides a mail route for older records. A docket can identify a bond order, dismissal, sentence, warrant, or later court action. It may not state the hour the jail carried out the order. For that detail, a narrow sheriff FOIA request tied to one named booking episode is the direct path.
Preserve the date of every lookup. Custody is dynamic, and a later arrest can produce a new record after an earlier release. Exact timestamps make it possible to explain the sequence without merging separate booking episodes.
