Logan County Projected vs Actual Release
A projected date is a calculation based on the record as it stands. It can mark an expected release from confinement to parole or Mandatory Supervised Release, or an expected later discharge. An actual release field records an event that occurred. Even then, release from prison can begin state supervision rather than end all correctional control.
Scheduled versus actual: A Projected Parole Date or Projected Discharge Date is prospective. A Parole Date paired with parole status supports release from prison to supervision. Final discharge is a separate endpoint.
Pretrial custody works differently. A person held at the Logan County Safety Complex may leave after a court-authorized event, satisfy a bond or pretrial condition, have a case dismissed, or transfer to another agency. There may be no calendar date to publish in advance. The court order supplies legal authority, while the sheriff's completed movement entry supplies the physical release time and destination.
Find a Logan County Inmate Date
First classify the person as a county jail detainee or an IDOC prisoner. The Logan County jail FAQ separates jail custody from the IDOC prison route. Lincoln Correctional Center and Logan Correctional Center are state prisons even though both sit in Logan County. Their release calculations belong to IDOC. A sentence served at the county Safety Complex remains a local jail calculation.
- Read the Logan County judgment or docket to identify pretrial status, county sentence, or IDOC commitment.
- For IDOC custody, search the official profile by IDOC number when possible and compare identity details.
- Read Offender Status and Location before reading any date.
- Copy the live label, such as Projected Parole Date, Parole Date, or Projected Discharge Date.
- For a county sentence, ask the clerk for the judgment and the sheriff for the jail calculation or release record.
- Record the lookup date and confirm any changed or conflicting field with the source agency.
The IDOC Individual in Custody Search is not a Logan County jail roster. The Logan County released-inmate search route covers VINE, Judici, and the sheriff request when the person was held locally.
Illinois Credit Changes Logan Release Dates
IDOC begins with the sentencing judgment and the governing law for that sentence. Qualifying time already spent in custody is addressed by 730 ILCS 5/5-4.5-100. Statutory sentence credit, earned credit, and restrictions are addressed by 730 ILCS 5/3-6-3. Consecutive or concurrent terms, offense and sentence dates, statutory exclusions, and later corrections also shape the calculation.
Illinois has no single rule requiring every prisoner to serve 85 percent. The sentence-credit statute identifies some offenses for which no more than 4.5 days of credit may be earned for each month served, a limit often summarized as 85 percent. Other categories can require 75 percent or 100 percent, while eligible sentences may receive day-for-day credit under the applicable version of the law. Program and discretionary credits have separate limits.
Do not calculate a person's date from an offense name alone. The offense date, exact statutory category, sentence structure, prior history, and exclusions can change the rule. IDOC Records is the authoritative calculator for an Illinois prison sentence.
The manifest image comes from the official Illinois sentence-credit statute.

The source shows why a Logan County release estimate must be tied to the applicable statutory category rather than a blanket percentage. The Logan County clerk search instructions provide the separate local route for a county judgment.
Why Logan County Release Dates Move
A future field changes when the legal or administrative inputs change. IDOC's FAQ says an Earned Sentence Credit award that revises a projected parole date appears in the online profile. Credits can also be withheld or revoked. New judgments, warrants, and corrected sentence data may move the calculation in the other direction.
| Factor | Possible effect | Best source |
|---|---|---|
| Custody credit | Credits qualifying time already served | Judgment and IDOC calculation |
| Earned sentence credit | May move a projected date earlier when awarded | IDOC profile and records |
| Credit loss | May move the date later | IDOC disciplinary and calculation record |
| New or corrected judgment | Can change sentence length or structure | Court order |
| Detainer or warrant | May cause a handoff instead of community release | Holding and receiving agencies |
| Consecutive sentence | Can extend the combined term | Judgment and IDOC Records |
| Release authority or placement | Can affect the practical event | IDOC and PRB record |
A transfer between IDOC facilities is not release. A person moving from Logan Reception and Classification to an assigned prison is still in state custody. Likewise, leaving Logan County Jail for IDOC or another agency is not a community discharge.
Confirm Logan County Release Dates
Recheck the profile close to the expected event and preserve the exact words. IDOC date fields include admission, projected parole, parole or last paroled, and projected discharge information depending on the record. A sentencing line marked discharged may cover only that sentence if another remains active.
Illinois VINE can provide a prospective custody-change alert. Registration does not guarantee a historical record or explain every movement code. The Logan County VINELink release check details the name match, status, and PIN confirmation steps. For a county release, ask the sheriff for the release date, release type, destination, and receiving agency.
Compare the projected field with the later actual status. If a profile says parole and lists an actual parole date, the limited conclusion is release from institutional confinement to community supervision. Use final discharge only after a state record shows the end of legal custody.
Logan County Jail Date Calculation
A county sentence comes from the Logan County judgment, qualifying custody credit, local jail records, and applicable Illinois law. It should not be estimated by copying an IDOC projected MSR formula. The sheriff's movement record is the operational record of when the person left the jail.
Use the Circuit Clerk docket to locate the sentencing order and custody-credit language. Then send a narrow written request through the sheriff FOIA route for the jail calculation or completed release record. Identify the booking episode and request the date, time, type, and destination where maintained and nonexempt.
A weekend or holiday does not justify assuming an early Friday release. No Logan County policy or directly governing special rule confirming that practice was found. Ask for current instructions instead of promising a day or pickup time.
Logan County Release to MSR
Most modern determinate Illinois prison terms lead to a date calculated by IDOC Records, followed by Mandatory Supervised Release. The Illinois Prisoner Review Board explains that it does not have independent discretion to grant most of these releases. Older indeterminate cases and special groups can follow a hearing path.
MSR means the person has left prison confinement but remains under conditions and state legal custody. A projected parole field is not a promise, and a completed parole date is not final discharge. The Projected Discharge Date marks an expected later endpoint and can also change.
Note: A release date answers when confinement may end, while a discharge date addresses when state correctional control is expected to end.
Read Logan County IDOC Date Fields
The official IDOC form accepts a last name, IDOC number, or date of birth. An IDOC number is the cleanest starting point because names can change or match. After opening a profile, compare identity descriptors and commitment details before using any date. The record headings can include Offender Status, Location, and an admission, release, or discharge block.
Admission Date marks entry into the state system. Projected Parole Date is prospective. Parole Date or Last Paroled Date is an accomplished event label when shown in the right status context. Projected Discharge Date concerns the expected end of state legal control. The sentencing area can also show whether an individual sentence is discharged, but a yes on one line does not prove all sentences have ended.
Location adds needed context. A numbered parole district plus parole status supports community supervision. A named prison with a future projected date supports continued confinement. A move from Logan Reception and Classification Center to another institution is placement within IDOC, not release.
The IDOC family and friends FAQ is the official source for the statement that earned credit changes can appear in the online projected date. The manifest capture below preserves that source.

The image supports the need to recheck a Logan County date after IDOC posts a credit adjustment.
Logan County Pretrial Release Timing
A pretrial detainee has not received a prison sentence calculation. Release may depend on a bond or pretrial order, dismissal, warrant resolution, another hold, or later court action. That makes a promised date unsafe unless the court and sheriff have both supplied current information.
Judici can show the legal sequence in the Logan County case. The sheriff movement record shows whether and when the jail carried it out. If another agency receives the person, record that as a transfer. Do not label disappearance from a live custody view as community release.
For pickup planning, contact the jail for current instructions. Processing can continue after a court entry appears, and no source reviewed promises a fixed exit or synchronized time. Note: A court authorization and physical jail discharge are separate events that may carry different timestamps.
State Logan County Release Language
Careful wording preserves the difference between prediction and fact. For a future IDOC field, state that the profile showed a projected parole or MSR date as of the retrieval date. For an accomplished event, state that the record showed release from confinement on the recorded date and identify any continuing parole or MSR status.
Final discharge should be reserved for the end of state legal custody or supervision. It should not describe the prison gate date by default. Likewise, transferred means another custodian received the person. It does not mean the person was free.
When a source changes, save the earlier wording and the later wording. A dated record makes a moving calculation understandable and avoids presenting an old estimate as a current promise.
